Autumn leaves
Litter lawns
Flitting
Floating
Flying leaves
Trees bared as their
Pages rustle
Like leaves in the wind
Settle restlessly
At a new chapter
Heart flutters
Tachycardic beats
Unable to find rhythm
Till as an infant upon his mama's
chest
Finds rest
My heart finds rest in You.

Since breaking my foot 3- 1/2 weeks ago, I have been still physically...but mentally it's been a bit more of a challenge. Finally, as I sat outside bundled in a blanket enjoying the fall day--I began to sense rest.
ReplyDeleteAs I traced fallen leaves into my journal...this poem emerged.
Blessings as you rest in Him,
Jeanne
3Thank you for sharing, Jeanne. I carry your poem's imagery and thoughts in my heart as I enjoy this lovely time of year.

Beautiful, lyrical, Jeanne! I didn't realize you wrote poetry, too! Hope you're getting better every day.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Vonda. Not sure if I can call it poetry--I am not sure of its form, a psalm, maybe, thoughts of the heart that pour forth.
ReplyDeleteMy foot is improving nicely... Realizing I am going to have my work cut our for me as I will need to restrengthen lots of unused and overused muscles.
Blessings,
Jeanne
Beautiful Jeanne!
