I'm back from the Monadnock Rejuvenate Women's Retreat where I shared a series of messages called:
Renew and Revive: Free to Believe and Become
What a wonderful weekend! Sisters from all over New England gathered on Friday evening...
From the moment we entered Monadnock's beauty and rest, we spent time encouraging and loving one another. In our first session:
Hebrews 12:1 encouraged us to lay aside every hindrance to running the race of faith.
Our Past
Our Wounds
Our Burdens
Fear, anger, resentment....
Anything that causes us to be weighed down. Because they cause us to walk funny. Then:
We encountered Jesus - Our Burden Bearer
On Saturday, we met two women in Scripture and saw how much we could relate to their stories. Both women aren't named, but Jesus saw them and their need.
* The Woman who had been hemorrhaging for twelve years, in Mark 5.
* The Samaritan Woman at the Well, in John 4.
Both of these women were changed from their encounter with Jesus - They were FREED to become more in His presence.
Then on Sunday, Esther's story showed us about stepping into the role God has ordained for us--for such a time as this.
Encountering God through Jesus Christ gives us a new identity. 2 Corinthians 5:7 tells us we are a new creation. And, like Esther when we put on our "queenly" attire to go before the King, we receive our identity in Him. We are:
Chosen
Redeemed
Forgiven
To Become:
A Light in a Dark Place
A Fragrance
His Ambassador
We discovered how important it is to believe who God is and all He has done-and will do. And to become all He has planned for us to be until He calls us HOME.
We also discovered our past doesn't define us. When we come to Him we are redefined in His presence.
He sees you becoming all He has planned for you!
How have you been redefined in His presence?
